My Totally RAD 80’s Birthday Party

1st Grade Classroom· 80's Party· Birthday Party· Oriental Trading

Recently I turned the BIG 3-5 and since I was an 80’s baby,  I had no choice but to celebrate it BIG as hair was back then and made it TOTALLY RAD! 🙂
I had the best of times planning this party and could not have done so without the help from Oriental Trading Company!  Scroll down below for all the details then click on the names of the items for their direct links!
To set up my cake table, I hung a colorful Paint Splattered Backdrop and decorated the table with these retro-fun Cassette Tape Buckets that were perfect to hold the Neon Jelly Bracelets, glowsticks, and custom sugar cookies from my talented friend, Antoinette from Shoelaces and Sugar Cookies! Alongside the cake, I placed some cassette napkins, totally awesome cake plates, and an Inflatable Boom Box  that were so fitting for the party and made it even more RAD!

Since I wanted to include my children, I decided to make it a family party and making these fun gift bags could not have been easier with these Bright Neon Treat Bags, 80’s Plastic Cups, Bright Puzzle Cubes, and Neon Hexagon Bubble Bottles!

Needlessly to say, I had an AWESOME time celebrating and felt like one lucky star! 🙂

For me, it was the fall of 2007 when I was hired 15 minutes before Meet-the-Teacher Night to replace the first grade teacher who decided to transfer back to her former school! Also, I had no idea I was teaching first grade until I formally accepted a teaching position. 🤣 I mean, a girl fresh from college needs a job, right?!
