Chicago has so much to see and enjoy for families. Here is a list of our family’s favorite things to do in Chicago with kids!
- The Bean (Cloud Gate)- Your trip to Chicago cannot be complete without a trip to the famous sculpture, The Bean, also known as Cloud Gate! Designed by Anish Kapoor, an Indian-born British artist, The Bean is conveniently located in Grainger Plaza at Millennium Park.
2. Ride a Pedicap! While you’re at the iconic Millennium Park, take a pedicab and ride along Lake Michigan and take in the beautiful views of the lake and city!
3. Cruise down the Chicago River! Take a tour on one of Chicago’s popular boat cruises and see the city close up! Filled with history and fun facts about the city and its famous buildings, taking a boat tour is a must-do if you are visiting Chicago for the first time. The ride was breezy and so much fun!
4. Have lunch on the river! One of the unique things about Chicago is that you can dine along the river at any of the waterfront restaurants! So pull up a chair, order a meal, and watch the world float by.
5. Have some fun at Navy Pier! Bring the kid out of everyone by stopping by Navy Pier! In addition to the Centennial Wheel, Wave Swinger, Carousel, and Drop Tower, visitors can enjoy a variety of restaurants, shops, free seasonal programs, parks, gardens, and facilities at the pier.
6. Indulge in Chinatown! If you’re hungry from all the sightseeing, head over to Chicago Chinatown and get ready to feast on some of the most delicious Chinese dishes, dim sum, desserts, and so much more! There are also so many photo opportunities throughout the area along with many souvenir shops.
7. Take in the views at Skydeck Chicago! Want to get a birdseye view of the city, head up to the Skydeck Chicago! After purchasing your ticket, you will ride an elevator up the observation deck for a turn at one of the designated sections for pictures!
