Summer Updates, Maternity Photoshoot, Babyshowers, & the TPT Seller Challenge, OH MY!!!

Baby Shower· End of the Year· FREEBIE· Maternity Photoshoot· TPT Seller Challenge

So many wonderful things have happened lately that I can’t wait to share with you!

School’s Out!
Our last school day was Friday, June 5th and my sweet first graders surprised me with the cutest gifts for my baby and me!  It was a total shock and surprise as I was not expecting anything at all, especially on the last day of school. Needlessly to say they made me tear up as I read their cards and opened up the presents.

It was also quite bittersweet to clean up our classroom as we headed into summer.  The kids were so helpful and wanted to stack all the chairs and helped me stack the desks. It was definitely sad to see how lively our classroom was in August and bare it was to prepare for the cleaning crew to come through.  However, I’m so proud of my firsties and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things that they will do next year down the hallway!

In the Meantime….

I have been enjoying the last couple months of my pregnancy and spending time with my family.  I can’t tell you how much I love summer, and being able to take family vacations to just relax and unwind.

Here are some snapshots of our trip to Florida.  It was so wonderful to reunite with family as well as relax on the beach where we spent most of our days.  Our lil’ man had the best time splish-splashing, feeding live alligators, and playing with his cousins! And….I can’t say enough how blessed and lucky my husband and I feel to have such an easy traveling baby. Sure hope our new bundle of joy is the same! 🙂

Our Maternity Photos
Speaking of our new bundle of joy, we had our family maternity photoshoot completed by Kristan Johnson Photography.  Just as the rain subsided in Texas, we met and got the pictures done in a speedy hour.  I’m so impressed and overjoyed with the results!  Thank you, Kristan for capturing such a wonderful moment for our family!  If you are in the DFW area, I would highly recommend Kristan!

My Baby Showers

My sweet first grade team threw a wonderful shower before the end of the year, and I couldn’t have felt more blessed to work with such an amazing group of girls.  My awesome faculty and staff also showered  our lil’ Lily and me with the kindest wishes and gifts.  I can’t wait to introduce her to my work family!

Baby Shower #2 was hosted at our house this past weekend.  Besides it being an explosion of pink and pretty bright colors, it was filled with so much love and laughter from our friends and family.

Currently…
I am participating in the TPT Seller Challenge with my fellow TPT-ers on Instagram!  It is a 4-week challenge to help improve my stats and build my lil’ store.  This week, I madeover a few covers of one of my FREEBIES and two products.  Thank you Teach, Create, Motivate, Sparkling in Second, Peppy Zesty Teacherista, & Third in Hollywood for hosting this challenge!

This activity right here is one of my favorite act This activity right here is one of my favorite activities for the beginning of the year! 🌟

I make a BIG speech bubble out of black butcher paper and cut out yellow circles for Emojis. ☺️😀😍🥳🤩😟😫

As one of the things on our class Scavenger Hunt during Meet-the-Teacher Night, the kids are asked to take one of the yellow circles and draw the face of an emoji that best describes how they feel about being a first grader.

This activity is so simple and fun but gives me such information on how the kids are all feeling even before the first day of school!

Using this simple tool, I am able to address any anxiety or stress that they may have during our FIRST Morning Meeting! It’s so powerful to know even before school begins what I need to do to help ease them into first grade! 💕

We also use the data collected for a graphing activity and then discuss what we can do to help make everyone feel happy and better.

I love this activity and will definitely be doing this again this year! Swipe to see the before picture.

One of the best things I did a couple summers ago One of the best things I did a couple summers ago was that I made these privacy folders before school started! 🎉

The kids absolutely love the positive sayings and I love that it allows them space to focus on their own work.
