May Currently and It’s the LAST! :(

Currently

Yay!!! I am finally linking back up with Oh Boy It’s Farley for my May Currently, but Nay because it will be the last Currently as we all know it.  🙁

When I first started blogging, I must admit that I struggled with ideas for content and felt quite lost in the vast world of teacher blogging. But through reading other teachers’ blogs and connecting with other teacher bloggers through link ups like this, I was inspired in so many ways.

So thank you, Farley for this wonderful opportunity to connect with you and other teachers! I’m so glad I had a chance to participate in this!  With that being said, here is my May and last Currently.

Listening:  Silence is a sound that we don’t get to hear much around the house anymore.  With two babies in the house, there’s always something going on and someone is always calling my name for one thing or another.  I do love all the commotion and fun that we have in the house and I’m over the moon with my babies, but I do love silence too….even if it only comes by…… once in a blue moon.
Loving: I can’t tell you how much I am loving this spring season!  With my allergies in check this year, I am actually enjoying being outside with all the blooming flowers!  We have also been able to take a few weekend trips here and there, and it has been so much fun!  I was done with winter the moment it started.  So I am SUPER glad that warmer weather is ahead of us. Yay!!!
Thinking: Speaking of warmer weather, I am sooo excited for summer!  With family vacations already planned, I can’t wait for the beach and all the other things that will be going on!
Wanting: So it’s no surprise that I would love for summer to be here already, like NOW. 🙂
Needing: My son’s 4th birthday is coming up!  What?!  How is he turning 4 already when he was a newborn just yesterday?! I keep asking myself this, and I still can’t believe he’ll be 4 very soon and will officially start Pre-K in the fall!!!  But back to his birthday party planning… yea, I gotta finalize on all of that soon. 🙂
Truth: The truth is I have neglected my sweet little blog for a very long time.  I have tried very hard to add content here and there, but the truth is… having two babies, a full-time job, and being mommy/wife/teacher all rolled up in one is pretty much exhausting to say the least.  And honestly, to find time for blogging really means less sleep for me as this alone time really only exists when babies and hubby are fast asleep into the night.
So that’s my May Currently! It’s been a fun journey! Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great May, and I’ll keep you updated as soon as I can!

I'm glad you're getting to enjoy Spring and the growth of your own kids. You have your hands full during this season of life and it's far more important than a blog, which will always be here to come back to. Your kids will only be little once. Cherish every minute.

I believe in the freedom that is the cornerstone of our democracy and the belief that we are all born FREE to make our own choices, walk our own path, and choose our own destiny wherever it may lead us.

I believe we are better when we are together, UNITED, and accepting of all Americans.

This activity right here is one of my favorite act This activity right here is one of my favorite activities for the beginning of the year! 🌟

I make a BIG speech bubble out of black butcher paper and cut out yellow circles for Emojis. ☺️😀😍🥳🤩😟😫

As one of the things on our class Scavenger Hunt during Meet-the-Teacher Night, the kids are asked to take one of the yellow circles and draw the face of an emoji that best describes how they feel about being a first grader.

This activity is so simple and fun but gives me such information on how the kids are all feeling even before the first day of school!

Using this simple tool, I am able to address any anxiety or stress that they may have during our FIRST Morning Meeting! It’s so powerful to know even before school begins what I need to do to help ease them into first grade! 💕

We also use the data collected for a graphing activity and then discuss what we can do to help make everyone feel happy and better.

I love this activity and will definitely be doing this again this year! Swipe to see the before picture.

For the more Back-to-School activities, you can click to the link in bio to grab them on SALE for a limited time! https://bit.ly/2TfR0w5
