It’s the Sunday Scoop!

The Sunday Scoop· The Teaching Trio

Hi everyone! I’m linking back up with the Teaching Trio again today to bring to you my Sunday Scoop!

Ahhhh… Laundry, laundry, laundry.  What I can I say?!  It always hit the “Must Do” list every week and here it is again.  So thankful I have a husband who lovingly throws it all in the washer then dryer for me.  Now only if the clothes can just dry, iron, and fold themselves.  That would be great! 🙂
A girl can definitely accumulate a lot of things during the course of 8 years of teaching, and my cabinets are definitely showing just that.  It’s hard to decide what to throw out, since you just never know when you might need it for a lesson, right?!
Recently, I finished a couple projects that I’m super proud of, especially when I can apply them immediately into my instruction and lesson.  With such a hectic schedule, I’ve not been able to fully promote them…so I got to make sure I’m back to Pinning, Pinning, Pinning.  Below is one of my newest projects.

The pretty fall weather is here, and I’m loving every minute of it.  I’m looking forward to taking a stroll in the park with my boys this week and hopefully, take a Sunday nap again.  The last one was definitely much needed from a very longggg week, and this has been a very long week again.

The BEST part this week was definitely going to the pumpkin patch this weekend.  The first time we went here was for my son’s first fall pictures.  He was itty bitty then and was almost 5 months old.  Now, he’s running and jumping and wanting to pick his own big pumpkin.

Below are pictures of our trip to the pumpkin patch!

Off to the patch we go!!!

Wow!  So many to choose from!

He said he wanted to take THIS one home, but daddy had another in mind. lol

So…. we compromised on this one instead. 🙂

Who took the lil’ pumpkin from the pumpkin patch?!! Guess WHO?!

For a more perfect union, we will continue to put in the work, stay informed, and vote for the future that ALL of our children deserve. ❤️🤍💙
I believe in a loving and generous America- the Am I believe in a loving and generous America- the America that opened her arms and provided refuge to my family and allowed us to start anew and build our own American dreams.

I believe in the freedom that is the cornerstone of our democracy and the belief that we are all born FREE to make our own choices, walk our own path, and choose our own destiny wherever it may lead us.

I believe we are better when we are together, UNITED, and accepting of all Americans.

This activity right here is one of my favorite act This activity right here is one of my favorite activities for the beginning of the year! 🌟

I make a BIG speech bubble out of black butcher paper and cut out yellow circles for Emojis. ☺️😀😍🥳🤩😟😫

As one of the things on our class Scavenger Hunt during Meet-the-Teacher Night, the kids are asked to take one of the yellow circles and draw the face of an emoji that best describes how they feel about being a first grader.

This activity is so simple and fun but gives me such information on how the kids are all feeling even before the first day of school!

Using this simple tool, I am able to address any anxiety or stress that they may have during our FIRST Morning Meeting! It’s so powerful to know even before school begins what I need to do to help ease them into first grade! 💕

We also use the data collected for a graphing activity and then discuss what we can do to help make everyone feel happy and better.

I love this activity and will definitely be doing this again this year! Swipe to see the before picture.
